Rob Stroup is a veteran of the studio -- on both sides of the glass. Having written and recorded his own songs since his high school days, Stroup evolved into a renowned engineer and producer and now owns his own Portland recording studio "8 Ball Studio."

Because of this, he knows exactly the approach that he wants to take to capture a studio sound that matches his and The Blame's live performances. Below are samples of some of the work that is being produced right now:

Unique Approach
With the advent of digitial recording gear, many artists have leaned on the automation of features like click tracks and isolation booths to create clean, crisp, and tight recordings. Many of the songs on Rob Stroup and the Blame's debut album are recorded in a way which can best be described as "Old School." No click tracks (which creates a very organic feel) and the band performing the songs at the same time in order to capture the "perfect take."

Because of this, the end result is an honest representation of the soul of Rob Stroup's music.
